VJ Andy is a British TV host, video jockey, choreographer, and producer, who mainly works in Hindi TV shows. In 2013, he participated in Colors reality TV show Bigg Boss season 7, and he was among the top 5 contestants in the show.
From 1991 to 1995, he studied drama, theatre arts, and stagecraft at The Westgate School, Winchester, England.

Parents & Siblings
His father passed away when Andy was a kid. His elder brother, Pravesh Kumar, is a film director. He has a younger sister named Geeta Kholia.
Andy is a member of the LGBTQ community.  In an interview, while talking about his sexuality, Andy said,
I had always been tagged as a gay, homosexual and that has a lot of connotations in one’s life. This has been happening since I was a child. But I was lucky enough to have great parents. They never told me to behave in a particular way. I was lucky enough to have always got backing from them. I was allowed to have girlfriends, boyfriends and without any issues. That is something that needs to be worked on in the Indian community.”
In 2010, he made his debut as a TV host with the Hindi model hunt show Get Gorgeous season 6, which aired on channel V.
He gained immense popularity with channel V’s dating show ‘Dare 2 Date’ (2012).
In 2012, VJ Andy hosted Fox Life’s talk show ‘What’s with Indian Women?!’
His other popular Hindi TV shows as hosts are India’s Got Talent (2014; Colors) and Box Cricket League season 1 (2014; MTV).
He has also hosted red-carpet events at various award shows like Filmfare Awards.
In 2013, he appeared as a contestant in Life OK’s reality TV show ‘Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki.’
He has also participated in other reality TV shows like ‘Bigg Boss season 7’ (2013; Colors), ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 7’ (2014; Colors), and ‘I Can Do That’ (2015; Zee TV).
VJ Andy has also appeared as a guest in various Hindi TV shows such as ‘Bani-Ishq Da Kalma’ (2014; Colors) and various seasons of ‘Bigg Boss’ (2014-2016).
VJ Andy played the role of Cyrus in the Hindi web series ‘Untag’ in 2017, and the series aired on Voot.
In 2020, he appeared as a guest in the Netflix Hindi web series ‘Masaba Masaba.’
In 2015, VJ Andy made his acting debut with the Bollywood film ‘Ek Paheli Leela.’
He has played cameo roles in a few other Hindi films like ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum 3’ (2016) and ‘Radhe’ (2021).
Andy played a small role in the English film ‘Little English’ (2022), which is directed by Andy’s brother.
In 2018, Andy joined a theatre company in England Rifco Theatre Company as a choreographer. He has also choreographed a few Hindi songs like “Kaliyon ka Chaman” (the early 2000s), “Yeh Kya Hua” (early 2000s), and “Kuwa Ma Doob Jaungi” (from the Hind film Page 3 released in 2005).
In 2019, Andy worked with the team of the art department in the English film ‘The Deranged Marriage.’ In 2022, he worked as a costume designer in the English film ‘Little English.’ He has a self-titled YouTube channel on which he uploads review videos on films, TV shows, and celebrities. He has also uploaded a few interview videos and parody videos on his channel. As of December 2022, he has around 32K subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Criticised for his Tweets
Andy has received criticism for his tweets several times. In 2021, VJ Andy received a huge backlash from the netizens for tweeting about the Indian actor Karan Kundrra and his rumoured girlfriend Yogita Bihani. 
- When Andy was in class 6, he started his training in Kathak, and while he was in college, he did his training in contemporary dance form. Later, he had a severe back injury after which his doctors suggested Andy to quit dancing. 
- Andy has uploaded his work on his official website Andy Kumar World.
- In 2013, while he was a contestant in Bigg Boss, he revealed that after his father’s demise his family faced several financial issues. His mother used to work in a factory to earn bread and butter for the family. Later, Andy started working in a dance bar to support his mother financially.
