- On 16 October 2020, on one of his social media accounts, Sanket Upadhyay shared some pictures while he was working in his NDTV newsroom cabin. In the background of the pictures, he was caught watching the news on the channel Republic TV. Soon after the pictures went viral on social media, Arnab Goswami, the Republic TV Editor-in-Chief heard boasting on his news channel show that most of the NDTV’s news anchors watch Republic Television and the number of viewers of NDTV was less than Republic TV. Arnab Goswami said,
Tak waale are so bad even their own employees would rather watch Republic TV!”
- In March 2021, Sanket Upadhyay uploaded an old picture on one of his social media accounts. In the caption of this picture, he mentioned that he, along with his father and sister, went on the Dandi route in 1994 and walked 390 km.
