Television

In 2005, he participated in Sahara One’s comedy TV show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.’ In  2017, he acted in Doordarshan’s TV show ‘Laxmi..Kahani Diya Aur Toofan Ki.’

Film

In 2010, he debuted with the film ‘Bhavnao Ko Samjho’ in which he played the role of a doctor. He played the role of Panditji in the 2017 comedy film ‘Sweetiee Weds NRI.’

Controversies

Stopped by a Constable for not Wearing a Seatbelt

In March 2007, while driving a car, Parag was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt by a constable named Narsingh Himabhai. He was fined Rs 100, which he refused to pay initially, but paid it later, under the fake name Maganbhai C Patel. Reportedly, using the fake name heated the argument, in the course of which, Parag’s wife, Minaben slapped the constable and threatened him of breaking his skull. Narsingh filed a complaint against them. The case was resolved in 2011 in the local court of Vadodara. [3]

Death

On 5 October 2022, he died after suffering a heart attack. His last rites were performed in Vadodara, Gujarat. [4]

  • The news of Parag’s demise was announced on social media by his friend Sunil Pal, a standup comedian. In a video, while talking about his death, he said,

    Hello friends, another shocking and bad news has come out from the world of comedy… Parag Kansara ji, our Laughter Challenge co-contestant, the sixth companion, is no more in this world. Yes, Parag Kansara who used to do reverse-thinking comedy, used to think about everything in reverse, share with us and tickle our funny bones, he’s no more. What is this? Has the comic world caught the evil eye? I don’t know why the people who make everyone laugh and their families are going through this… One by one, the pillars of comedy are moving away from us (sic).” [6]
